May in European countries is a beginning of true Spring and an invitation for summer that will come. More sunshine, less rains, flower blossoms.

May is a month of significant historical weight, particularly in Europe, as it marks the end of World War II. It’s a time for reflection on the devastating impact of the war, a reaffirmation of the importance of peace and unity, and a tribute to the resilience and courage of those who lived through and helped bring an end to this global conflict.

Along the way of recovery of Europe from the devastation in WW2, there was an vision, to create an event where people from all walks of life could come together, regardless of their nationality or background, and connect through the universal language of music.

This festival would not just be a showcase of talent, but a symbol of unity, a celebration of the diverse cultures that make up Europe, and a testament to the enduring human spirit.
The Eurovision Song Contest or Eurosong was born, main creator was the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), a network of national television broadcasters.
The first event being held on May 24th 1956 in Lugano, a romantic city in Switzerland and it continues to occurs every May in different city and different countries.
Initially, the event was primarily followed in Europe. With the development of satellite and internet technology, its reach expanded globally.

Months before, from November to March, all members of EBU, national TV broadcasters, organizing qualification events, on which they choose which song will represent their country on the main event.
Any of national winners has a great honor, but also a great responsibility, during those months they are like national heroes, they are in every shows.
Main events was always in the middle of May, on Saturday night, earlier it took only one day, later EBU managers decided to add two days for the first and the second semifinal, they are on Tuesday and Thursday before the main event.
The reason for it is number of EBU member was raised during time, except European countries, on Eurovision Song Contest take a part some of non-European countries: Israel, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Australia. On 1980 event, Africa was represented by Morocco.
On the first part of event, all artists and music groups are performing their elected songs, there are no space for mistakes, they are giving all of the best of them.

After it, hundred millions people around Europe and other EBU members countries are voting for them, hoping that their country will be the host of Eurovision Song Contest.
